Dr. Gillet grew up in Southern California and has always been passionate about working with exotic animals. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical rotations at Louisiana State University.


Professional Role & Experience

Dr. Gillet brings a diverse background in both clinical veterinary medicine and wildlife care. Prior to veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary technician at multiple animal hospitals and gained hands-on experience as a mammal keeper at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

She has also been actively involved in wildlife and conservation efforts, volunteering with organizations such as Project Wildlife, Nurtured by Nature, and Lions, Tigers & Bears. Dr. Gillet currently serves as a director for Global Conservation Force, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting endangered species including rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and pangolins.

Her combined experience in clinical care, zoological settings, and conservation work allows her to bring a well-rounded and specialized perspective to the care of exotic and avian patients.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Gillet enjoys traveling, diving, rock climbing, photography, hiking, and archery. She shares her home with a wide variety of animals, including her dog Koda, cat Toulouse, geckos, bearded dragons, an Argentine black and white tegu, and poison dart frogs.
