Jeffrey R. Jenkins, D.V.M.

Dr. Jenkins,  a husband and father, is internationally recognized for his work in avian medicine and surgery, exotic and laboratory animal medicine and surgery. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on a variety of subjects. His work has been published in peer reviewed journals, texts and monographs.

Dr. Jenkins holds Diplomate status in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice, one of the first group of twenty veterinarians to achieve this honor.  continue

Jane Stout V.M.D.

I am originally from Pennsylvania and call Pittsburgh my hometown.  I have really enjoyed San Diego as my new stomping grounds!  I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a BA in Middle East Studies in 2001.  I then went on to receive my VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.  After completing a 1 year small animal internship at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, Virginia I joined the staff of the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in July of 2010.  continue

Lisa Jenkins

Since 1993 I’ve served as Hospital Manager for the Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital. I work in an environment surrounded by a variety of interesting people and animals.This practice is truly extraordinary! Each day is filled with something new and exciting. Shelly Meszaros

I have been working in the veterinary field since 1985. I began as a technician at Melrose Pet Clinic where we worked on dogs and cats. I completed my BA in English Literature from San Diego State University. continue

Latisha Zamora

I have been with the Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital since 1994. As the Senior Laboratory Technician, I am responsible for the entire in-house laboratory testing including hematology, microbiology and parasitology. continue

Christine Miller

I have been a part of the Avian & Exotic family since October of 1998, when I was hired as a kennel assistant. After a short four months, I was promoted to receptionist, and eventually a veterinary assistant. continue

Amber Joubert

I joined the Avian & Exotic Practice as a Registered Veterinary Technician, (RVT) in 2009.  I have really enjoyed working with Dr. Jenkins and his staff.  It’s like working in a very exciting mini zoo, which has been a dream of mine since I was young. continue
